Darina Burke (Principal) Fr Richard Sheehy (Chairperson) 5th class R.16 have been busy knitting the past few weeks to have their lovely Christmas tree ornaments ready when the class tree was decorated yesterday. We had great fun learning to knit, and creating something to bring home for our own trees for Christmas 2015.
This month we were focusing on our word processing and typing skills in our computer classes with Ms. Edwards. Classes from 1st upwards learned how to use Microsoft Word. We typed up poems, diaries, stories, letters and more. We practised our word processing skills such as:

So we decided to experiment with lots of items such as; corks, spoons, elastic bands, money, pencils and bottles. We predicted which items would float and sink. We then tested them to see if we were right. Afterwards, we worked in groups to design a boat that would float. We all used different items and they all successfully floated. Next week we will be making our own iceberg, so keep your eyes peeled.
The girls in 5th class were delighted to be some of the first ever to see the new Disney/Pixar film The Good Dinosaur in the Irish Film Institute today. The story of Arlo the young dinosaur and Spot a young boy, was a delight to see throughout, highlighting the relationship between family and friends. The girls were delighted to be in attendance at this preview, especially Seanán who celebrated her 11th birthday today!
It's competition time so put your thinking caps on to compose a new motto for our new theme- Global Citizenship- ENERGY!!!!

The two 3rd classes have been learning about Stone Age and Bronze Age times in Ireland, so this week we all went on a trip to the National History museum to have a look at some real stone age and bronze age artefacts.
