Our Second Classes have worked very hard preparing themselves for First Holy Communion. We took a well-deserved break from the classroom and headed for the Botanic Gardens, even stopping for ice-creams on the way. Sweet!!

This week as we continue to explore 'Non-Violence' we are talking about 'Avoiding Hurting Others'. Room 15 are doing this for their homework but if anyone else would like to watch it we'd love to hear your thoughts on it too.

They are bringing together Authors, Animators and Psychotherapists in celebration of the transformative impact of metaphor in building children’s resilience. The conference has been planned and designed for parents, grandparents, therapists, teachers, librarians, writers, illustrators, animators, social workers and other healthcare professionals. It's taking place in The National Library of Ireland on 17th June 2017 with limited tickets available on Eventbrite so early booking advised. Please press below for more details. The mini basketball girls were treated to an excellent lesson on Tuesday by a visiting tutor, Vinnie O'Keefe. Vinnie has a wealth of experience in paying and coaching basketball and the girls were thrilled to receive some of his expertise in an hours session. They will be playing in a tournament in the Basketball Arena on May 29 next.

Throughout the week we had GAA, frisbee sessions, gymnastics, dance in class and yard, circuit training, Jersey Day, active homework and a famous sportsperson competition. ![]() Happy Active Schools Week everyone. We all know how important physical activity is for our health, our energy levels and our well being in general. We try to stay active in St. Brigid's every week and as an Active School we will make a special effort this week. Parents can check out what we'll be up to by following us on twitter @ We're going to do circuit training on Jersey Day, Drop everything and dance during class and have some taster sessions of frisbee with a coach from Ultimate frisbee.
