On May 8th last, the 6th class girls in Room 16 presented their Blue Star project on the European Union to all classes from 2nd to 6th, as well as the parents of Room 16 and parents of the Romanian pupils in our school. We were honoured to have the Romanian Ambassador to Ireland, H.E. Mrs Breazu, and a local councillor, Mr. Paul McAuliffe, as our guests, and to have them speak to the assembly about the importance of Europe. We proceeded to sample European foods as brought in by the 6th class girls, and our visitors and parents enjoyed many varied tastes. Mrs. Phelan's class are hoping to receive their Blue Star flag in recognition of all their work this year on their project. In school we watched a series of short nature clips about the most colourful species in the animal kingdom. We recreated the patterns and shapes of these animals' coats and skins on paper using paint and pastels. We then used our drawings as inspiration for some very cool fashion items and accessories. Check out our creations as we model them below! Our 6th Green Flag!

![]() We had a very successful and sunny Active Schools Week recently. Thank you to everyone for such great participation. A big thank you to the children on the committee and our parent helpers for helping to run the events.. Click on the picture to bring you to our Active Flag blog to see pictures and a video from the week. Below is a super performance of Cha Cha Slide in yard for Drop Everything and Dance last week. We had great fun learning all about weight this week. We were estimating, comparing and recording weight. Room 14's JEP project "The Pink Bakery" was a huge success! Our showcase day was on the 26th of March and we sold all of our products. We made chocolate covered Oreos (Choreos), delicious cupcakes and Cocoa on the Go. Cocoa on the Go was the most popular and sold out first. On Showcase Day some members of Ms Dywer's family came in to support us which was lovely. We raised an amazing €711!! After we figured out how much we spent on supplies, our final profit was an amazing €541!!!! All of the proceeds went to cancer charities. We were really happy with the way the day went and how everybody got their turn to sell the products on the day. We also really enjoyed baking the products and getting everything ready for the big day. We had a great fun selling the products, we had the best day ever! Thanks to everyone for all of their support- it was greatly appreciated. By Paige, Aoife, Sarah and Kelly |
