Amazing projects form the girls based on their ideas of what a Cow Planet would look like. Based on a song called 'Cow Planet' the girls used their imagination to create spectacular pieces of work showing diverse and beautiful places where their cows live. Ms. Phelan is so impressed by the standard of work shown by these girls. Well done to each of you on the time and effort put into your projects.

The girls in sixth class were delighted to support the Dubs on Fri last when it was a dress up in blue day. Lots of fun was had playing with our blue exercise ball on the day as well. The girls in 6th class in R.16 have been learning about Irish ruins and buildings in history. As part of this study, they created lovely projects in groups to recreate these buildings still to be seen today. Today, every class helped pick some fruit and vegetables for Harvest Day. We found some rhubarb, peas, tomatoes, squash and carrots of all sizes as well as many more vegetables. We have some very large sunflowers that each class are going to dry out and use the seeds again for next year. Thanks to our amazing gardener Terry that works hard keeping the garden in shape every year. Happy Harvest Day!!
We've had a busy start to the year in 3rd Class. We've settled into our new classroom and are working very hard. Read below for some of the things we've been doing. Have a look at the slideshow for some pictures of what we've been up to.
Today in Room 14 we celebrated Roald Dahl Day! We did loads of fun things like making Mr. Twit's beard, making our own Roald Dahl-inspired bookmarks and invented sweets that are one of a kind, just like Willie Wonka! We dressed up as our favourite characters from his books. There were lots of Sophies from the BFG, a few Matildas, an Oompa Loompa, a Fantastic Mr. Fox, a number of Veruca Salts, one Violet, a Miss Honey and a George with his marvellous medicine! We can't wait until next Roald Dahl Day! :-) By Aoife and Sophie The girls in 6th class Room 16 started their first day back to school by having a group photo taken with a photo frame and then individual photos were taken. We will repeat the photo-taking again at the end of the school year. In the meantime, we are looking forward to a great year of learning. For the 6th class girls especially this will be their most senior year in St. Brigid's and will show their responsibility in helping in many ways around the school. Receiving the sacrament of Confirmation next March is something that the girls will be looking forward to in a special way.
St. Brigids would like to welcome all pupils back to school today with a special welcome to our new Junior Infant pupils. We hope you had a fantastic summer and that you're all looking forward to an exciting school year ahead.
The girls in third class, room 10 had great fun learning their lines, organising costumes and designing props. They were a little nervous but still managed to put on a great show. Well done to all!
