St. Brigid's Family Fun Day, Sunday 12th June - CANCELLEDSt Brigid’s Parents Association would like to thank all those parents and teachers who very kindly volunteered to help with our Family Day especially those who volunteered to give up their time for the full day to see the day going ahead but unfortunately there was not enough support from the whole parent body to safely run the event and on Friday we had to make the very hard decision to cancel the event for this year which we know will be a great disappointment to the girls in the school.
The Parents Association cannot run our events/activities on our own. We put a lot of work and time into organising our events/activities but as we are only a small group of 14 parents it is not possible to run them on our own and we need the help of all the parents within the school. Unfortunately though, this year in particular, the number of parent volunteers who have offered to help us do this has decreased considerably which makes what we try to do all the more difficult. We know the Family Day has always been a great end to the school year since its introduction about 4 years ago giving our daughters some great memories of their time in the school. The Parents Association found it very hard to make the decision but all we can hope is that for next year hopefully more parents will get involved and this won’t have to happen again. As you know there are still a couple more events to come before we finish up for the summer and hope that you as parents with daughters in the school will help us make these events run as smoothly as possible so we won’t have to cancel anything else. Upcoming events: Thursday 16th June – 6th Class Graduation Reception Wednesday 22nd June – Second Hand Uniform Sale Friday 24th June – Lynchs New Uniform Sale Thank you for your continued support. Why has it become almost intuitive to do the counter-intuitive by being harsh and critical of ourselves? These were some of the questions I asked myself as I began to put myself in the picture.
