We have been working hard reviewing our Nutrition Policy so that St Brigid's will be a health-promoting school. By now all parents will have received a summary of the policy and corresponding information sheet. The full policy can be downloaded from the school policies section. This policy will be rolled out starting August 31st 2016. The whole school community will work together to make this policy a success.
We have been learning about electricity in third class, room 10. We learned how to make a simple circuit. Then we learned how to make a 'switch' to turn it on and off. We have a class full of budding scientists. Third Class decorated the school walls with bright, colourful flowers. We had great fun! We had Lions, Cheetahs, Tigers, Monkeys and Kangaroos taking part in relays, egg and spoon, sack and beanbag race. We had great weather and super fun.![]() It is hard to believe that we are in the last month of yet another school year. May was a very busy month and June looks to be just as busy. Read more in our newsletter online under the Monthly Newsletters Tab above. The main events this month as well as the closing dates for the summer holidays are on our google calendar on the Home page. On the 31st May first class went on their school tour to Pirate Village. We had such a great time. We bounced our socks off but still had lots of energy to sing all the way home. ![]() We were delighted to have been selected as a Scoilnet 'Star Site'. This much-coveted award recognises schools all over Ireland that embrace the web as a communication tool. Well done to the teachers and students for keeping the News Blog up to date with their fantastic work and news throughout the year! Our school was featured in the April edition of the Intouch magazine which is an INTO publication. ( see image at the side) ---------------------------> Our butterflies are all grown up now ad ready to spread their wings. The girls on the St. Brigid's basketball team participated in the senior B mini basketball tournament on May 26th in the National Basketball Arena. Their first game was against Mother of Divine Grace, which they won 28-8. Their next game against Marist, Crumlin saw another great win, 30-8. This meant that the girls were now through to the final as pool winners. The opposition in the final against Lusk saw us lose out by 12 points and come runners up. The team players showed super spirit and competitiveness throughout the day, and we are very proud of them. A big well done too to the girls who marked the score sheet and worked the game clock. Well done to all involved on the day. Keep up the great work in your new schools ladies. |
