Well done to all who entered yesterday and did such great research. The answer was of course Johnny Sexton who plays rugby for Leinster and Ireland. Our lucky winners were Beth Kelly, Grace Doyle and Caitlin Ng . Congratulations girls. . ![]() Happy Active Schools Week everyone. We all know how important activity and exercise is for our health, our energy levels and our well-being in general. We try to stay active in St. Brigid's every week but we're going to make a special effort this week at school and at home We're going to have Jersey Day, a Blog Competition, Drop Everything and Dance in class and in yard, a walk around the local area and some classes might do some circuit training. Click here or on the picture above to bring you to the Active Schools Blog where you can enter the first day of our 'Famous Sportsperson Competition'. Don't forget to wear any jersey or sports top on Wednesday:-) SOUND We have been looking at sound this week. We have learned that sound is a form of energy and have investigated how sound waves travel. We have listened to and identified a variety of sounds in the environment. See our Picasso- inspired collage work below. In 1912, Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) made a guitar. Cobbled together from cardboard, paper, string and wire, materials that he cut, folded, threaded, and glued, Picasso's silent instrument resembled no sculpture ever before seen. We are going to design and make our own musical instruments next week. Keep an ear out! It's all about LOVE this month in St. Brigid's! Our song is 'All You Need Is Love' by the Beatles and our weekly sub-values will be Thoughtfulness, Generosity, Forgiveness and Showing Love #values Take a look at this month's values movie, looking back at some of the activities and lessons that took place around the school during our March month of 'Right Action'! ![]()
Our Easter fair run by the Parent's Association was a huge success again this year. It was a really enjoyable day and a lot of people were involved in the organisation and running of the event.
Huge thanks to the committee members for their amazing work. Many thanks also to our sponsors, parent volunteers, staff, children and all who attended on the day or contributed in other ways. See the short video below. A short musical look back at room 7's second term in 1st class... :o) Final rehearsals are well under way at this stage for the amazing 5th and 6th class variety show 'Brigid's Got Talent!' The show will be on for two nights in the parish hall on Thurs 19th and Fri 20th April and tickets will be on sale in school after Easter. Just in case you haven't heard our Easter Fair is taking place this Sunday March 25th. Final preparations are underway. We are completing our entries for the colouring competition and busy doing up posters for the various stalls on the day - the book stall, the toy stall, the cake stall, the tuck shop - to mention but a few.
